Did you know that over 50% of candidates lie about their English language skills? It is a common practice to exaggerate one’s competences in foreign languages. How to check the candidate’s English language skills? Invite them to complete an on-line language test!

Once the candidate has completed the test, you will receive the result confirming the actual level of knowledge of the English language on a scale from B1 to C2, in accordance with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR).

How does the language test work?

The candidate receives an individual link to an on-line English language test. The test consists of 42 tasks which are automatically matched to the level of skills of a given candidate. The candidate has 36 minutes to complete the test. Before starting the test, we ask the candidate to state their declared level of knowledge of the English language.

The first question is drawn out of a set of 200 questions from the declared level of knowledge of the foreign language. If the candidate provides the correct answer, they are moved to a higher difficulty level; if they fail, they are moved to a lower level. This method allows reliable verification of the actual level of knowledge of the English language.

writing

What makes our tests reliable?

We use the IRT technology, which allows analysing the candidate’s behaviour in relation to a specific test task rather than the entire test, thanks to which the candidate receives tasks adjusted to their level, which in turn allows a very precise analysis of intensification of competences and applying tests both in juniors and higher-level positions. The average difficulty of all items is 0.56. The reliability of the test is confirmed by the Horst coefficient, which equals 0.80 for our language test. All content-related works are supervised by Prof. Michał Chruszczewski, Ph.D., from the University of Warsaw.
